Apigee Consultant (Mid Senior Level)

Infosys Limited is seeking a highly analytical and technical Apigee Consultant (Mid Senior Level) to join our elite Enterprise Package Application Services business vertical in Pune. Embedded within our specialized Microservices API Management practice, this role focuses on defining robust enterprise API strategies, managing cloud-native lifecycle gateways, and designing secure, high-throughput integration layers for global digital transformations.

Key Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• API Management & Gateway Engineering: Design, develop, secure, and manage enterprise-scale API gateways and proxies utilizing the core capabilities of the Apigee platform.
• API Strategy & Technical Direction: Formulate holistic API strategies and microservices runtime topologies; evaluate and recommend specialized developer tools, middleware frameworks, and application architectures.
• API Security Architecture: Implement and enforce industry-standard security protocols across the API surface, managing OAuth 2.0, JWT tokens, API keys, threat protection rules, and rate-limiting throttling policies.
• Cloud & Container Orchestration: Deploy and support API proxies across multi-tenant cloud ecosystems (GCP or AWS), configuring IAM rules, VPC networking, Cloud Load Balancing, Web Application Firewalls (WAF), and Docker/Kubernetes (K8s) clusters.
• DevOps & Infrastructure as Code: Build, customize, and maintain automated CI/CD build pipelines via Jenkins or GitLab CI/CD; manage automated environment provisioning using Terraform and GitOps frameworks like ArgoCD.
• Backend Automation Scripting: Program custom data extraction utilities, backend connectors, and environment configuration scripts using Python, Angular, and Bash scripting.
• Consulting Solution Delivery: Partner directly with corporate clients to capture functional requirements, run deep technical feasibility analyses, conduct comprehensive Conference Room Pilots (CRP), and execute Proof of Technology (PoT) workshops.
• Project Sizing & Proposal Ingestion: Actively lead small project groups, review technical proposal segments, and construct robust project effort estimations that conform to organizational financial guidelines.

Required Qualifications & Technical Stack

• Professional Experience Track: 5 to 9 years of robust experience in software development, microservices architecture management, or enterprise API gateway administration, with dedicated hands-on exposure to Apigee fundamentals.
• Educational Background: Holds a valid engineering or technical degree (Bachelor of Engineering, BTech, BCA, MTech, MCA) or an MBA with a strong technology delivery background.
• Methodology Awareness: Deep operational understanding of software configuration management, agile project development lifecycles, project pricing models, and IT service management standards.
• Core Soft Skills: Outstanding technical communication properties, exceptional data-driven analytical troubleshooting capabilities under tight compliance deadlines, excellent client-interfacing qualities, and team leadership traits.
