Amazon Dev Center India (ADCI) is seeking a highly analytical, leadership-driven Application Engineer III, Greenseers to join our Consumer Payments team in Bengaluru, Karnataka . This position is part of Amazon's premium rekindle returnship program, providing a structured pathway for technical professionals returning to work after a career break . The role focuses on anchoring operational infrastructure, troubleshooting mission-critical transaction platforms, and serving as a subject matter expert for systems processing billions of dollars globally .

Key Responsibilities & Scope of Work

  • Distributed Systems Troubleshooting: Investigate, debug, and resolve complex architectural runtime errors across high-volume global payment systems with limited documentation .
  • Technical Leadership & SME Ownership: Serve as the primary technical point of contact across internal workflows, driving constructive team dialogue and giving explicit technical direction to peers .
  • Change Management Governance: Enforce strict operational guidelines and perform complex production system change management activities to preserve 24/7/365 light-speed availability .
  • SOP & Documentation Engineering: Identify critical structural process gaps, authoring comprehensive documentation to enable faster peer resolution paths .
  • Cross-Functional Problem Solving: Partner across multi-tier retail, fintech, and operations engineering towers to systematically eliminate transactional dependencies and process leaks .
  • Talent Development & Mentorship: Act as a technical onboarding buddy, lead internal project sprint timelines, and actively participate in team hiring loops .

Required Qualifications & Technical Stack

  • Systems Engineering History: Minimum of 2 years of non-internship professional software development or enterprise-level technical support experience .
  • Scripting & Programming Fluency: Proven capability writing and automating scripts utilizing modern programming languages to process operational platform data .
  • Preferred Technical Value-Adds: Hands-on experience debugging REST web services, XML, or JSON data formats, alongside functional familiarity with distributed application configurations or hardware/software RAID arrays .
  • Core Soft Skills: Outstanding verbal and written technical communication attributes, exceptional emotional composure through difficult customer/escalation loops, and a strong bias for action .
