Job Description

Amazon India (ASSPL) is hiring a proactive, results-driven Area Manager (L4) to lead Inbound operations within our Fulfillment Centers across major multi-location hubs, including Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, and Mumbai. This foundational leadership position focuses on managing front-line associate teams, tracking department output, and executing continuous improvement strategies to optimize delivery pipelines.

Key Responsibilities & Scope of Work

  • Departmental Performance Governance: Oversee daily floor workflows with a constant, high-quality focus on warehouse safety, inventory quality, customer experience, and processing productivity.
  • Daily Labor Sizing & Balancing: Review volume forecasts to determine shift-level productivity targets; partner across peer leadership lines to balance labor buffers and maintain an efficient fulfillment shift.
  • Safety & Compliance Enforcement: Administer localized fulfillment center safety programs, ensuring strict adherence to standard environmental norms and OSHA compliance parameters.
  • Performance & Employee Management: Take direct management responsibility for associate teams, monitoring performance metrics, conducting check-ins, and resolving floor operational bottlenecks.
  • Continuous Lean Process Optimization: Identify logistical gaps, lead root-cause defect investigations, and implement process improvement initiatives using structured Lean management tools.

Required Qualifications & Technical Stack

  • Educational Background: Holds a valid Bachelor’s degree across any discipline or equivalent professional pattern.
  • Professional Experience Track: Proven baseline background in front-line employee management, logistics, warehousing, or manufacturing operations.
  • Preferred Engineering Tools: Over 2 years of hands-on experience driving process improvement projects, using Six Sigma / Lean methodologies, or tracking performance metrics inside fast-paced supply chains.
  • Core Soft Skills: Strong team collaboration properties, sharp logical thinking, clear communication to drive objectives, and full agility to operate across dynamic fulfillment shifts.
