Custom Software Engineer

Accenture is seeking an experienced and analytical Custom Software Engineer to join their enterprise technology division as a Packaged Application Development Team Lead/Consultant in Mumbai. The primary purpose of this software engineering post centers on designing, coding, and configuring bespoke enterprise solutions within high-capacity cloud infrastructures to deliver scalable, top-tier application capabilities mapped directly to client operational targets.

Core day-to-day administrative and technical development responsibilities involve operating as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead cross-functional development squads, manage critical design choices, and translate customer requirements into rigorous technical specification blueprints. The engineer will build custom software components using SAP ABAP within modern HANA environments, implement robust system integration tracks to guarantee data flow consistency, and set up automated quality checks. Programmers are also expected to manage backend application integrity by executing deep debugging routines, performance tuning, and source code database optimization to eliminate technical bottlenecks.

Additionally, the position focuses extensively on engineering governance, milestone tracking, and corporate mentorship. The lead engineer will establish development standards, enforce software lifecycle management policies using active version control tools, and organize technical knowledge-sharing workshops to upskill junior developers. Candidates must present a minimum of 5 years of specialized background in SAP ABAP Development for HANA, complete 15 years of full-time education, and demonstrate superb communication proficiencies to collaborate with stakeholders across global network teams.
