Job Description

Amazon Dev Center India (ADCI) is seeking a highly skilled, system-oriented FTVx Voice Experience - SDE II to join the FTVX Voice Experience Team in Chennai . This high-impact role focuses on designing, architecting, and implementing scalable software solutions that power consumer and developer features for voice support on FireTV consumer devices, directly integrating with the underlying AI stack and Alexa+ conversational capabilities .

Key Responsibilities & Scope of Work

  • Voice Experience Platform Engineering: Design and build low-latency software platforms and Services for consumer-facing voice capabilities, resolving tight runtime and scaling bottlenecks .
  • AI Stack & Alexa+ Interfacing: Take engineering ownership of specialized feature expert modules, action APIs, and critical middleware connectors that link FireTV systems with advanced AI technologies .
  • Technical Roadmap & Architecture Strategy: Help formulate the long-term technical vision, product roadmaps, and architectural integrations across multiple interconnected, complex software environments .
  • Risk Triage & Management: Proactively identify, assess, and resolve deep-seated architectural risks or technical defects that could impair system delivery velocity or consumer-facing service quality .
  • Full-Lifecycle SDLC Governance: Execute coding best practices across microservices repositories, maintaining high standards for code reviews, source control systems, automated builds, and deployment tests .
  • Stakeholder Alignment & Executive Communication: Present technical strategy plans and timeline status metrics clearly to internal leadership cohorts and key external technology partners to secure buy-in .
  • Technical Peer Mentorship: Coach, mentor, and upskill junior developers on the team, reinforcing the application of advanced software design patterns .

Required Qualifications & Technical Stack

  • Professional Experience Track: Minimum of 3 years of robust, non-internship professional software development experience shipping clean production code .
  • Systems Architecture Mastery: 2 or more years of verified track record mapping design patterns, refactoring legacy codebases, or scaling distributed microservices to ensure reliability boundaries .
  • Core Technical Toolkit: Advanced backend programming fluency in Java and TypeScript, combined with database management expertise and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) design concepts .
  • Preferred Credentials: Full software development lifecycle exposure (3+ years preferred) encompassing coding standards, continuous integration networks, and post-launch livesite operations .
