Job Description
Infosys Limited is seeking a highly skilled and analytical GCP BigQuery Developer to join our specialized Data & Analytics Unit in Bangalore. This data engineering role focuses on building scalable warehouse environments, orchestrating complex ETL pipelines, and optimizing modern cloud computing storage and costs within the Google Cloud Platform.
Key Responsibilities & Scope of Work
- Data Warehousing & Architecture: Design, establish, and maintain enterprise data warehouse frameworks using Google BigQuery; structure optimal data storage models utilizing star and snowflake schemas.
- Data Pipeline Engineering: Build, scale, and maintain high-volume automated data pipelines (ETL/ELT) using GCP ecosystem technologies such as Cloud Dataflow, Cloud Dataproc, and Cloud Composer (Apache Airflow).
- Query & Storage Optimization: Author and fine-tune highly complex SQL scripts and workflows; formulate efficient data partitioning, clustering, and indexing architectures to minimize query runtime costs and maximize compute capabilities.
- Omnichannel Data Ingestion: Drive real-time and batch ingestion frameworks from disparate structured and unstructured systems using Cloud Storage and Cloud Pub/Sub, ensuring comprehensive data validation, cleansing, and transformation.
- Cross-Functional Analytics Support: Collaborate alongside data analysts, data scientists, and business intelligence leaders to expose analytical models to reporting frontends like Looker, Looker Studio, and Tableau.
Required Qualifications & Technical Stack
- Professional Experience: 3 to 5 years of proven hands-on track record operating as a Data Engineer or Cloud Developer with specialized depth in GCP services.
- Core Technical Stack: Mandatory expertise in advanced SQL scripting, Google BigQuery, and object-oriented programming with Python. Additional familiarity with Spark (PySpark) is highly desirable.
- Foundational Capabilities: Strong understanding of big data analytics processes, generic development lifecycles, execution excellence, and exceptional problem-solving acumen to translate business queries into high-performance technical deliverables.
