GE Proficy Developer / MES Specialist

Infosys Limited is seeking an analytical GE Proficy Developer / MES Specialist to join its Engineering Services division in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The primary objective of this role is to design, develop, test, and implement advanced Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) solutions utilizing GE Proficy Plant Applications, enabling digital manufacturing transformations and data-driven shop floor environments.

Core day-to-day administrative and programming responsibilities involve engineering custom technical configurations across key MES modules, including Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Inventory tracks. The developer will optimize Proficy Historian archives, manage Kepware OPC Server interfaces, map workflow sequences, and troubleshoot software bottlenecks to guarantee system scalability. Additionally, team members will write complex database queries and debug stored procedures using MS SQL Server and SSRS to deliver operational and analytical business performance reports.

Furthermore, the position focuses on integrating core MES networks with enterprise ERP pipelines and external quality systems through middleware technologies such as Informatica or SAP PI/PO. The specialist will collaborate heavily with Technical Architects, lead critical hypercare support phases to secure software stability, and convert client operations parameters into functional technology layouts. Ideal applicants must present 1 to 2 years of related industrial engineering background, a strong foundational grasp of Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM) concepts, and excellent stakeholder communication traits.
