Job Description
Amazon India (ASSPL) is seeking a highly analytical and metric-driven Operations Manager to oversee our multi-mile logistics ecosystems across regional hubs in Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Chennai. This high-visibility, cross-functional leadership role owns the execution of processes stretching from fulfillment centers through large-scale sortation hubs down to the hyper-local last-mile delivery network, driving network speed and capacity stabilization.
Key Responsibilities & Scope of Work
- End-to-End Network Execution: Manage, audit, and configure complex fulfillment, sortation, and last-mile distribution loops to keep logistics pipelines flowing smoothly at maximum productivity thresholds.
- Labor Sizing & Capacity Engineering: Design and authorize data-driven site labor plans, orchestrating cross-functional resource allocations with HR to handle volatile peak business volumes while optimizing per-unit cost parameters.
- Continuous Improvement & Kaizen: Drive a culture of continuous improvement across the floor; utilize Kaizen framework mechanisms and Lean processes to systematically eliminate processing waste, bypass bottlenecks, and thwack operational friction.
- Team Appraisals & Performance Coaching: Direct a multi-layered workforce, leading daily stand-ups, supervising core operations managers, executing formal performance reviews, and establishing clear milestone expectations.
- Cross-Functional Metric Harmonization: Coordinate directly with Finance, Delivery Stations, Fulfillment Centers, and global project engineering groups to align city-wide infrastructure goals with broader regional cost strategies.
- Executive Operational Reporting: Compile and evaluate granular site data loops, leading Weekly Business Reviews (WBRs) and Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs) with VP-level stakeholder teams to present risk mitigation updates.
Required Qualifications & Technical Stack
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 4 years of robust track record operating inside fast-paced logistics, warehouse management, shipping supply chains, or manufacturing systems, including 3+ years in direct team performance management.
- Educational Background: Holds a valid Bachelor's degree or equivalent pattern (alternatively, 2+ years of internal Amazon blue-badge individual contributor background).
- Process Improvement Toolkit: Practical technical command over productivity dashboards, spreadsheet data cleaning models, project scheduling, and Lean metrics tracking tools.
- Core Soft Skills: Outstanding verbal and business writing attributes to communicate across matrixed lines of business, analytical conflict resolution, high ownership, and full adaptive reasoning to navigate highly ambiguous multi-site challenges.
