Job Description
Amazon India (ASSPL) is hiring an expert, cross-functionally adept Operations / Senior Operations Manager to orchestrate our multi-mile logistics network across regional nodes in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai, and Gurgaon. This high-visibility, multi-site leadership role takes end-to-end responsibility for defining and executing processes stretching across fulfillment centers, large sortation hubs, and last-mile delivery installations to increase network speed and streamline city operations.
Key Responsibilities & Scope of Work
- Multi-Mile Network Governance: Plan, construct, and manage end-to-end processing loops, managing complex inventory transitions from massive fulfillment nodes to regional last-mile sorting centers.
- Workforce Selection & Training: Partner directly with HR and instructional design teams to lead technical hiring, onboarding, and workforce alignment processes for sortation teams, enforcing strict quality targets.
- Labor Sizing & Capacity Engineering: Formulate, audit, and finalize site-level labor plans to optimize operational costs while keeping adequate bandwidth configurations to absorb high-volume peak spikes.
- Continuous Lean Optimization: Conduct deep metrics evaluations to uncover systemic operational bottlenecks, leading Kaizen and Continuous Improvement initiatives to eliminate processing waste and reduce redundant work cycles.
- Financial & Cross-Functional Alignment: Coordinate daily across Finance, Delivery Station leads, Fulfillment Centers, and global project engineering groups to manage regional budgeting plans and city-wide risk logs.
- Executive Operational Reporting: Compile and evaluate granular site data loops, leading daily stand-ups alongside Weekly Business Reviews (WBRs) and Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs) to provide clear milestone metrics to leadership.
- Performance Appraisals & Mentorship: Execute formal performance appraisals for junior managers, providing career coaching to help site leads challenge the status quo and benchmark internal floor best practices.
Required Qualifications & Technical Stack
- Professional Experience Track: Minimum of 4 years of robust, progressive track record leading high-volume operations, e-commerce shipping lines, global supply chains, or industrial manufacturing setups.
- Educational Background: Holds a valid Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical pattern (alternatively, a minimum of 2 years operating inside an equivalent corporate environment).
- Preferred Engineering Tools: Practical technical command over multi-tier database reporting structures, scheduling applications, and data cleaning models inside spreadsheet programs.
- Core Soft Skills: Outstanding verbal and business writing capabilities to drive objectives, strong customer experience focus, team-oriented listening habits, and full adaptive reasoning to manage complex problems under ambiguity.
