Job Description
Microsoft is seeking an analytical, security-focused Product Manager II to join the elite Microsoft Defender Experts (DEX) team within our engineering center in Hyderabad. This individual contributor role focuses on delivering the product strategy and roadmap for Microsoftβs premier Managed Detection & Response (MDR) service, blending human technical capability with advanced Generative AI tools to optimize high-availability security operations centers (SOC) at machine speed.
Key Responsibilities & Scope of Work
- Product Roadmap & Feature Execution: Partner directly with security researchers, core engineering, and UX designers to create, validate, and scale high-quality security features and threat detection services.
- AI Optimization & Threat Automation: Leverage cutting-edge machine learning and Generative AI applications to deploy rapid solution prototypes, automate triage workflows, and accelerate response timelines for security analysts.
- Telemetry & Data-Driven Prioritization: Define, instrument, and track service-level Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); evaluate system metrics and telemetry logs to drive continuous product scaling and optimization rules.
- Customer Research & Integration: Engage deeply with internal security teams and external enterprise clients to dissect modern SOC operations tools, isolate data-collection blind spots, and deliver innovative product integrations.
- Cross-Functional Deal & Project Orchestration: Lead cross-team mitigation initiatives by working across broader Microsoft Security solution matrices to establish disciplined execution rhythms and precise release planning.
Required Qualifications & Technical Stack
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 3 years of verifiable track record operating as a Product Manager, backed by a technical or relevant business Bachelor's degree.
- Core Technology Domain Mastery: Practical understanding of multi-domain cybersecurity landscapes, encompassing endpoints, email processing, identity parameters, cloud infrastructure, and SIEM tracking systems.
- Security Background Verification: Capacity to successfully clear the specialized Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire or transfer, recurring every two years thereafter.
- Core Soft Skills: Outstanding product sense to navigate strategic software decisions amidst structural ambiguity, strong storytelling abilities, and clear consultative communication skills within a 3 days/week in-office hybrid configuration.
