Scala Developer

Infosys Limited is seeking a highly skilled and analytical Scala Developer to join our premier Data & Analytics Unit in Bangalore. This technology consulting and big data engineering role focuses on building highly reactive systems, orchestrating large-scale distributed data processing pipelines, and delivering transformative digital architectures using Scala, Spark, and Akka.

Key Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Solution Design & Architecture: Lead customer engagement strategies by providing top-tier technology consulting, covering initial enterprise problem definition, technical platform diagnosis, solution architecture, and production environment deployment.
• Big Data & Reactive Engineering: Write high-performance, clean code using Scala functional programming principles, building scalable and concurrent systems backed by the Akka reactive framework.
• Distributed Data Pipeline Ingestion: Design and scale automated ETL/ELT pipelines using Apache Spark to ingest, process, validate, and clean massive structured and unstructured datasets.
• Proposal Review & Risk Mitigation: Evaluate complex client technical proposals, review developer design models, and identify architectural vulnerabilities or software deployment bottlenecks ahead of delivery timelines.
• Change & Project Governance: Architect change management strategies to guide enterprise clients through legacy transitions, while navigating project financials, resource sizing, and standard pricing models.
• Team Collaboration & Mentorship: Train engineering squads in modern programming techniques, foster knowledge management initiatives, and provide constructive performance feedback to boost overall delivery efficiency.

Required Qualifications & Technical Stack

• Professional Experience: 2 to 5 years of solid hands-on data engineering track record specializing in big data analytics platforms and reactive architectures.
• Core Technical Stack: Mandatory expertise in functional programming with Scala, Apache Spark data processing mechanisms, and Akka frameworks.
• Methodologies & Domain Acumen: Strong logical thinking skills, full fluency across the SDLC and Agile scrum structures, multi-industry domain knowledge, and reliable client-interfacing communication skills.
