Senior Building Management System Specialist, Amazon Maintenance Operation Centre

Amazon Dev Center India (ADCI) is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Senior Building Management System (BMS) Specialist to join our global Maintenance Operation Centre team based in Hyderabad. In this senior technical role, you will take ownership of maintaining, enhancing, and optimizing one of the largest BMS portfolios in the world, ensuring seamless infrastructure functionality and maximizing energy efficiency across the global warehouse network.

Key Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Global Portfolio Optimization: Maintain and optimize global BMS platforms, industrial IoT layers, and advanced data analytics tools to systematically ensure high-availability facility performance.
• Data Analytics & Cost Control: Monitor and evaluate telemetry streams to proactively uncover structural optimization patterns, driving energy conservation, sustainability indices, and operational cost reductions.
• Multiprotocol Integration: Integrate and normalize disparate industrial communication architectures including BACnet, LON, Modbus, and SNMP into a unified tracking interface for standardized data visualization.
• Remote Network Troubleshooting: Perform deep root-cause diagnostics on remote site connectivity anomalies across fieldbuses (RS485 networks), network gateways, and IP-centric systems like Niagara Fox, MQTT, BACnet/IP, and SNMP.
• SOP & Policy Architecture: Design, write, and execute global Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and governance frameworks that are highly scalable across all distribution nodes.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with World Wide Real Estate (WWRE), Design & Construction (D&C), Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME), and Sustainability teams to translate cross-organizational goals into platform criteria.
• Strategic Insight & Whitepapers: Deliver strategic technology insights to upper management on automation trends; author corporate whitepapers, outline migration paths, and preserve strict adherence to change management guidelines.
• Field Capability Training: Lead technical workshops and structured development sessions for global field technicians, enhancing the baseline system debugging capabilities of region-wide engineering teams.

Required Qualifications & Technical Stack

• Professional Experience: Minimum of 3 years of dedicated experience in building controls, HVAC programming, system commissioning, and infrastructure automation fields.
• Educational Background: Holds a valid Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or an equivalent technical field (or 5+ years of verified military/professional tracking history).
• Preferred Credentials: Strong hands-on familiarity with industrial control system software and hardware layers; active product certifications in advanced vendor frameworks like Tridium Niagara or Distech Controls are highly advantageous.
• Core Soft Skills: Outstanding technical communication skills, exceptional project scheduling capacity, analytical problem-solving under pressure, and full flexibility to support 24/7/365 global team coverage (including nights, weekends, and holidays).
