Job Description

Microsoft Digital (MSD) is seeking a highly skilled and security-focused Service Engineer 2 to join our high-performing M365 MultiTenant team in Hyderabad. This individual contributor role focuses on delivering advanced A365 and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Administration across Microsoft's internal enterprise tenants, utilizing automation infrastructure, Microsoft Graph APIs, and policy-as-code models to safely govern the cloud-native ecosystem at fleet scale.

Key Responsibilities & Scope of Work

  • Multi-Tenant Cloud Administration: Lead the daily configuration, governance, and policy implementation of the core Microsoft 365 (A365) administrative plane across a massive global portfolio of internal corporate tenants.
  • GenAI & Copilot Governance: Direct administrative controls for Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Studio, strictly defining agent lifecycles, connector permissions, and Graph-based tenant data access boundaries.
  • Automation & Drift Engineering: Author, optimize, and maintain infrastructure automation code to establish operational baselines, detect configuration drift across distributed environments, and mitigate identity plane anomalies.
  • LiveSite Monitoring & Triage: Oversee service health telemetry and incident response frameworks using tools like Geneva, IcM, and Kusto Query Language (KQL); participate actively in on-call engineering rotations to maximize service reliability.
  • Data Security & Compliance: Apply least-privilege administration principles and audit trail tracking, coordinating with Microsoft Purview (DLP, data retention, eDiscovery) boundaries to ensure compliance across multi-tenant workloads.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with backend software engineers, security architects, and core product workload groups to drive architectural design reviews and continuous process improvement loops.

Required Qualifications & Technical Stack

  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 2 years of software, network, or systems engineering track record alongside a valid degree, plus over 5 years of hands-on experience supporting production-level, enterprise cloud architectures.
  • Automation & Scripting Toolkit: Practical competency reading, debugging, and contributing to software automation pipelines using PowerShell, Python, C#, or TypeScript.
  • Preferred Platform Mastery: Direct foundational experience enforcing global policy-as-code baselines across multiple tenants, managing complex Microsoft Purview data classification rules, and optimizing telemetry streams is highly advantageous.
  • Core Soft Skills: Outstanding technical judgment, powerful analytical troubleshooting, excellent communication to bridge cross-discipline engineering squads, and the capacity to operate dynamically inside a 3 days/week in-office hybrid configuration.
