Job Description
Microsoft is seeking an innovative and analytical Service Engineer II to join the Technical Service Engineering squad within the Microsoft Advertising Advertiser Support Trust & Safety division in Hyderabad. This individual contributor role blends complex technical platform debugging with hands-on full-stack development, utilizing the latest generative AI-assisted tools to build automation systems, eliminate operational friction, and secure high-availability runtime solutions.
Key Responsibilities & Scope of Work
- Full-Stack Platform Automation: Design, build, and optimize AI-driven automation workflows, web utilities, and script suites to optimize technical diagnosis parameters and eliminate structural manual tasks.
- Production Troubleshooting & Debugging: Investigate complex reliability, data-quality, and runtime performance anomalies across distributed computing platforms, cloud services, and production REST APIs.
- Production-Quality Engineering: Write clean, testable code using C#, Python, or TypeScript; create automated verification scripts (unit, integration, and end-to-end) and push enhancements via standard CI/CD pipelines.
- Live-Site Governance & RCA: Coordinate technical response workflows during active live-site incidents, issuing timely system alerts, tracking telemetry logs, and leading detailed root-cause analysis (RCA) diagnostics.
- Observability & Telemetry Management: Construct and refine metrics tracking and system alerting configurations leveraging SQL and Kusto Query Language (KQL) data platforms.
- Technical Mentorship & Documentation: Build self-serve technical knowledge-base frameworks for Tier 1 and Tier 2 squads, publish step-by-step troubleshooting wikis, and mentor junior development peers on system tracing tricks.
Required Qualifications & Technical Stack
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 2 years of verifiable track record operating as a Software Developer, Service Engineer, or Systems Administrator within enterprise cloud infrastructure settings.
- Core Technical Toolkit: Practical competency in at least one general-purpose programming language (C#, Java, Python, or JavaScript), alongside baseline exposure to Azure environments and version control setups (GitHub/Azure DevOps).
- AI Acceleration Fluency: Proven capability to leverage AI-based coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT) safely to accelerate software execution while verifying code performance and security limits.
- Security Background Verification: Capacity to successfully clear the specialized Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hiring, recurring every two years thereafter.
- Core Soft Skills: Strong logical reasoning, unmatched data-driven analytical troubleshooting, excellent communication properties, and full compliance with a 4 days/week in-office operational model.
