Amazon Dev Center India (ADCI) is looking to hire a highly technical, logic-driven Software Development Engineer 2, Amazon Tax Services to join our core financial platform team in Bengaluru, Karnataka . Operating at the core of one of the world's largest transactional distributed systems, this SDE II tier position owns the architectural scaling, low-latency execution, and microservice engineering required to process sales tax and VAT calculations thousands of times a second for all physical and digital Amazon sales globally .

Key Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• High-Throughput Core Engineering: Design, write, and optimize distributed backend services that safely process millions of incoming tax calculations and invoice requests per minute under rigid SLA windows .
• Fault-Tolerant Architecture Scaling: Apply robust architectural design patterns to ensure systems remain 100% accurate, highly available, and compliant with changing cross-border tax regulations .
• Full-Lifecycle SDLC Management: Contribute to all parts of the development loop, enforcing strict coding standards, conducting exhaustive code reviews, and configuring automated build and release pipelines .
• Infrastructure Cost & Security Auditing: Launch innovative system optimizations that drive down compute costs while strengthening data encryption layers for highly sensitive global audit records .
• Agile Team Alignment: Partner alongside peer technical leaders and product groups inside a fast-paced ecosystem to drive immediate, high-priority business solutions .

Required Qualifications & Technical Stack

• Professional Software Tenure: Minimum of 3 years of verified, non-internship professional software development experience across enterprise platforms .
• System Design & Architecture: 2 or more years of proven industry experience mapping distributed architectural patterns, system reliability parameters, and high-load scaling thresholds .
• Core Programming Stack: Superior hands-on coding fluency utilizing modern Object-Oriented programming languages, optimized for production within a high-volume **Java-based microservices** ecosystem .
• Preferred Value-Adds: Valid Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, combined with strong experience managing automated code test suites, continuous deployment, and tier-1 production site operations .
• Core Soft Skills: Outstanding verbal and written technical communication attributes, strong self-driven execution, and a natural bias for deep-dive logical problem-solving .
