Job Description
Amazon Dev Center India (ADCI) is seeking a highly skilled, system-oriented Software Development Engineer (SDE II) to join our Amazon Financials Foundation Services (AFFS) division in Pune. Embedded inside the core eCommerce Services Organization (eCS), this position owns the architecture, optimization, and scaling of mission-critical systems processing hundreds of billions of dollars in multi-currency transactions across global marketplace grids.
Key Responsibilities & Scope of Work
- Distributed Systems Design: Architect, code, and deploy resilient, high-availability distributed software components capable of processing hundreds of millions of transaction records and millions of operations per minute.
- End-to-End System Optimization: Drive structural optimizations to maximize ledger security, decrease execution run-time latency, and minimize computing overhead costs across multi-tenant cloud pipelines.
- Cross-Platform Integration Architecture: Interface directly across complex platform domainsβincluding Retail Systems, Marketplace Platforms, Digital Assets pipelines, and global corporate financial enginesβto accelerate integration velocity.
- Full Software Lifecycle Ownership: Participate in all phases of the agile development lifecycle, converting loose business specifications into robust high-level designs, technical schemas, and clean unit/integration test parameters.
- Engineering Quality Governance: Enforce strict coding guidelines through comprehensive code reviews, unified source control strategies, automated build workflows, and operational post-launch performance monitoring.
- Agile Team Interlock: Act as an engineering anchor within a fast-paced, startup-like delivery loop, providing technical guidance to project teams to handle multi-workstream technical dependencies.
Required Qualifications & Technical Stack
- Professional Experience Track: 3 or more years of non-internship professional software engineering experience, combined with at least 2 years explicitly focused on the design, reliability scaling, and implementation of high-throughput distributed systems.
- Educational Background: Holds a valid Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical pattern in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an allied quantitative field.
- Core Technical Toolkit: Advanced backend programming command over at least one modern general-purpose language (such as Java, C++, Python, or C#) backed by complete familiarity with standard software design patterns and version control.
- Core Soft Skills: Outstanding verbal and written business communication attributes, high analytical reasoning under extreme system loads, strong self-motivation, and a collaborative team mindset.
