Software Development Engineer, AFT Inventory [SDE II / Backend Engineer]

Amazon Dev Center India (ADCI) is seeking an innovative, results-driven Software Development Engineer, AFT Inventory to join our Amazon Fulfilment Technologies organization in Bengaluru, Karnataka . Operating at the core of Amazon’s global supply chain network, this position focuses on reinventing the backend receive services and large-scale inventory database systems that power thousands of global fulfillment facilities .

Key Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Distributed Software Engineering: Design, implement, and deploy high-performance backend microservices to scale Amazon's inventory receive pipelines .
• System Design & Architecture: Map out robust data models, apply advanced design patterns, and optimize core structures for high scaling and operational reliability .
• Full-SDLC Process Governance: Lead end-to-end code quality metrics by enforcing strict coding standards, comprehensive documentation, code reviews, and build automation loops .
• Automated Logistics Optimization: Build automated platform solutions that manage billions of units of moving inventory while simplifying the experience for global sellers .
• Testing & Live Site Operations: Formulate rigorous software testing methodologies and handle real-time system performance triage in a fast-paced environment .

Required Qualifications & Technical Stack

• Professional Software Development: Minimum of 3 years of verified, non-internship professional software development experience across standard languages .
• Architecture & Scaling Background: 2 or more years of hands-on experience designing or scaling complex software applications and applying design patterns .
• Ecosystem Core Tools: Complete functional command over source control management tracking, continuous integration build processes, and distributed systems operations .
• Educational Foundation: Holds a valid Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an aligned quantitative engineering discipline .
• Core Soft Skills: Outstanding verbal and written technical communication attributes, strong self-driven execution, and a natural customer obsession .
