Amazon Dev Center India (ADCI) is seeking a highly talented, analytical Software Development Engineer II to join our Amazon Pay platform engineering division in Bengaluru or Hyderabad . Operating inside a high-growth fintech startup ecosystem within Amazon, this backend tier engineer owns the design, implementation, and deployment of frictionless, universal wallet systems that support millions of global e-commerce buyers and merchant partners off-Amazon .
Key Responsibilities & Scope of Work
- High-Scale Distributed Engineering: Architect, build, and scale resilient distributed backend infrastructure capable of handling high-volume transactions in a 24/7/365 production setup .
- B2B Integration Services: Develop, optimize, and deploy secure web applications and developer-facing web services to streamline payment integrations for third-party merchant platforms .
- System Architecture Evolution: Drive continuous software re-architecting, pattern selections, scaling configurations, and reliability upgrades across legacy and greenfield payment frameworks .
- Full-Lifecycle SDLC Governance: Lead absolute engineering excellence by adhering to strict testing paradigms, automated deployment structures, code reviews, and source control management .
- Operational Excellence & Trust: Monitor service metrics proactively to preempt latency drops, eliminate fraud vectors, and protect financial transaction privacy layers .
- Principal Engineer Interlock: Participate in cross-functional architecture reviews and regular technical knowledge transfers directly alongside Principal Engineers .
Required Qualifications & Technical Stack
- Professional Software Engineering: Minimum of 2 years of verified, non-internship professional software development experience across the complete system lifecycle .
- System Design & Architecture: Proven professional history mapping design patterns, managing complex distributed system infrastructure, and handling scaling/reliability boundaries .
- Modern Programming Stack: Hands-on programming mastery utilizing at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C#, rooted in precise Object-Oriented Design (OOD) standards .
- Educational Foundation: Holds a valid Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or an aligned quantitative engineering discipline .
- Core Soft Skills: Outstanding verbal and written business communication attributes, strong capability to think big, rapid technical problem solving, and a natural obsession with customer trust .
