PayFort, an Amazon Company (ADCI) is seeking a highly skilled, system-oriented Software Development Engineer II (SDE II) to join our regional payment processing technology squad in Chennai, Tamil Nadu . This critical fintech role centers on driving technical direction, engineering massive-scale distributed cloud solutions, and building highly secure, fault-tolerant web services that process high-concurrency transactions smoothly .
Key Responsibilities & Scope of Work
- Distributed Architecture & System Design: Conceive, design, and build highly robust distributed systems and web services engineered to thrive under heavy cloud traffic loads .
- End-to-End Delivery Ownership: Manage complex engineering deliverables, strategize long-term technical visions, and shape core product roadmaps to maximize bottom-line business value .
- Product & Stakeholder Interlock: Collaborate directly with Product Managers to translate abstract requirements into compelling, customer-facing technical capabilities .
- Full Software Lifecycle Governance: Instill engineering best practices—encompassing clean coding standards, structured documentation reviews, unified source control, and automated build testing on tight schedules .
- Project Planning & Prioritization: Manage project milestones, prioritize feature releases, handle cross-functional dependencies, and track external commitments transparently .

Required Qualifications & Technical Stack
- Professional Experience Track: Minimum of 3 years of robust, non-internship professional software engineering experience shipping high-availability production code .
- Systems Architecture Mastery: 2 or more years of verified track record mapping design patterns, managing database concurrency, or handling software scaling bottlenecks .
- Core Technical Toolkit: Advanced backend programming fluency in at least one modern general-purpose engineering language (such as Java, C++, Python, or C#) backed by distributed big data design fundamentals .
