Solution Architect L2

Wipro Limited is seeking a highly experienced, strategic Solution Architect L2 specializing in Mainframe Infrastructure and Legacy Modernization to design high-performance architectures, manage complex client portfolios, and drive presales solutioning at our Bengaluru delivery center.

Key Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Architectural Solutioning & RFP Management: Build scalable enterprise-wide architecture frameworks for new deals, handle comprehensive RFP technical responses, and perform detailed cost and differentiation analysis.
• Mainframe Modernization & Migration: Design structural transformation roadmaps for legacy setups, oversee end-to-end datacenter migrations involving Mainframe environments, and plan workload migrations.
• Presales Support & Executive Liaison: Lead architecture presentations for prospective clients, showcase technical thought leadership, and cultivate relationships with product owners and CXO-level executives.
• Delivery Enablement & Risk Mitigation: Advise internal delivery teams on design assurance, establish technical metrics (KPIs/SLAs), and compile technical mitigation and risk assessment plans.
• Practice Development & Team Management: Mentor junior architects and systems engineers, build proof of concepts (POCs) for growth areas, publish technical white papers, and lead talent resourcing and performance management workflows.

Required Qualifications & Technical Stack

• Professional Experience: Minimum 14 years of robust IT infrastructure experience, including a minimum of 3 years dedicated to Mainframe Presales or Solution Architecture.
• Core Technical Expertise: Comprehensive mastery of Mainframe hardware ecosystems, server systems, storage structures (DASD, Tape, Disaster Recovery networks), systems programming, and security protocols.
• Software & Licensing Stack: In-depth knowledge of IBM and ISV portfolios alongside associated licensing matrices.
• Preferred Secondary Background: Prior configuration or administration exposure to IBM i (AS400/iSeries), AIX operating systems, and specialized cloud environments like Skytap or IBM PowerVS is highly advantageous.
