Job Description

Amazon Dev Center India (ADCI) is seeking an analytical, automation-driven System Development Engineer, Amazon Payment Products to join our engineering division in Bengaluru, Karnataka . Operating within Amazon’s critical payment platform layers processing millions of daily transactions, this role centers on troubleshooting core software exceptions, scaling infrastructure monitoring tools, and maintaining high availability across high-volume globally distributed systems .

Key Responsibilities & Scope of Work

  • Production System Defect Triage: Diagnose, isolate, and programmatically fix deep technical issues within production web services written across Java and Ruby on Rails environments .
  • Infrastructure Automation Sprints: Design, write, and execute code for automation tools, shell scripts, and cloud systems to streamline day-to-day operations and reduce human touchpoints .
  • CI/CD & Deployment Supervision: Oversee and support software release pipelines, moving code deployments seamlessly across multi-tiered staging and production systems .
  • Support Queue Architecture: Own incoming high-priority ticket tracking, applying deep-dive debugging methodologies across multiple payments products, features, and digital components .
  • SLA & Notification Compliance: Coordinate live workflow alerts, dispatch technical user notifications, and execute incident responses within narrow internal SLAs .
  • Operations Status Reporting: Formulate system health summary logs, draft shift handover files, and build a unified team repository of common technical challenge playbooks .

Required Qualifications & Technical Stack

  • Infrastructure & Automation History: Proven professional history automating configurations, running code deployments, and supporting large-scale enterprise infrastructures .
  • Programming & Scripting Polyglot: Direct coding mastery utilizing at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, or Rust .
  • Operating System Foundation: Strong practical command navigating and administering Linux/Unix system environments .
  • Build & Lifecycle Engineering: Practical experience developing or troubleshooting automated continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines .
  • Preferred Value-Adds: Foundational background designing, operating, or scaling distributed computing architectures .
  • Core Soft Skills: Outstanding technical communication attributes, rapid logical problem solving under live site strain, great attention to metrics details, and high-level project ownership .
