Data Center Engineering Operations Engineer

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is hiring Data Center Engineering Operations Engineers for its Hyderabad Data Center operations. The selected candidates will work closely with AWS engineering teams, vendors, security teams, and infrastructure specialists to ensure uninterrupted operation of one of the world's largest cloud computing platforms. Engineers will participate in preventive maintenance, incident response, equipment installation, operational monitoring, and continuous process improvement while working in rotational shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain AWS Data Center critical infrastructure.
• Monitor electrical, mechanical, cooling, networking, and fire protection systems.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Manage data center incidents, outages, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct root cause analysis and prepare incident reports.
• Support installation, decommissioning, and replacement of infrastructure equipment.
• Create and maintain SOPs, technical documentation, and maintenance procedures.
• Ensure compliance with AWS operational standards and safety regulations.
• Manage inventory, spare parts, and engineering assets.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal engineering teams.
• Participate in audits, compliance checks, and preventive maintenance programs.
• Track SLAs, KPIs, and operational performance metrics.
• Assist in rack installation, facility expansion, and infrastructure upgrades.
• Support power distribution, HVAC systems, UPS, generators, and cooling equipment.
• Work in rotational shifts, including weekends and on-call schedules when required.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Freshers and candidates with relevant engineering experience are encouraged to apply.
• Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of facility operations and preventive maintenance.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Willingness to work rotational shifts and provide on-call support.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Data Center Operations.
• Knowledge of UPS, HVAC, DG systems, CRAC units, switchgear, and electrical panels.
• Experience with mission-critical facilities.
• Understanding of AWS infrastructure or cloud technologies.
• Knowledge of incident management and change management.
• Experience working with vendors and facility management teams.
