Job Description
Amazon is hiring a Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE) for its Tax Services team in Hyderabad. This role is ideal for professionals with experience in manual and automation testing who are passionate about building high-quality software for large-scale distributed systems.
The Tax Services team develops the platform responsible for calculating accurate transactional taxes, including sales tax and VAT, across Amazon's global marketplace. As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you will help ensure the reliability, scalability, and accuracy of mission-critical systems that process millions of transactions every day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and detailed test cases for complex software systems.
- Perform manual and automated testing for web applications, APIs, and backend services.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium, Java, and other automation frameworks.
- Execute functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
- Debug application issues using logs and collaborate with developers to identify root causes.
- Validate software quality throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Track defects, verify fixes, and ensure high-quality releases.
- Prepare test reports, quality metrics, and communicate testing progress to stakeholders.
- Continuously improve testing processes and contribute to automation framework enhancements.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 1 year of experience in Quality Assurance Engineering.
- Hands-on experience in manual testing and automation testing.
- Experience with Selenium, SOAPUI, UI testing, and API automation.
- Strong understanding of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and QA methodologies.
- Good analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of Java or other scripting/programming languages for automation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with API testing and mobile application testing.
- Experience designing scalable automation frameworks.
- Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and Scrum practices.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams.
