SDE I FTC

Amazon is hiring for the position of Software Development Engineer I (SDE I) – Fixed Term Contract (FTC) in Hyderabad, Telangana. This is a 12-month direct contract with Amazon, offering software engineers the opportunity to work on the Amazon Pay team and build scalable payment technologies used by millions of customers every day.

As an SDE I, you will contribute to the development of Amazon Pay's next-generation rendering platform, creating reusable UI components, backend services, and distributed systems that power seamless payment experiences across Amazon. You will collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and software engineers throughout the complete software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable software solutions for Amazon Pay.
• Build reusable UI rendering components and backend services.
• Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality software.
• Review technical requirements and participate in software architecture discussions.
• Write clean, efficient, maintainable, and well-tested code.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize applications for performance and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews and follow software development best practices.
• Develop customer-centric features that improve payment experiences across Amazon platforms.
• Work with distributed systems and modern software engineering technologies.
• Continuously improve application performance, scalability, and reliability.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent technical discipline.
• Minimum 1 year of professional software development experience (excluding internships).
• Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, Python, C++, or similar.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience building scalable web applications or distributed systems.
• Knowledge of REST APIs, cloud technologies, and microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with software design patterns and version control systems like Git.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative Agile development environment.
