Job Description

Amazon India (ASSPL) is seeking a proactive, analytical Site WHS Officer to partner directly with our fulfillment center operations teams across key logistical hubs including Mumbai, Thane, Gurugram, and New Delhi . This critical industrial compliance role centers on deploying standard company safety policies, ensuring complete adherence to local and regional regulations, and using data-driven insights to foster a safe working environment .

Key Responsibilities & Scope of Work

  • Regulatory Policy Execution: Partner directly with frontline execution units to deploy standard company safety policies and audit continuous adherence to local statutory requirements .
  • Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Execute high-rigor process risk audits and technical site data reviews to uncover, isolate, and eliminate conditional and ergonomic workflow hazards .
  • Lean Safety Optimization: Drive localized facility-level Kaizen loops and Continuous Improvement practices to permanently reduce on-site incident trends .
  • Data-Driven Safety Telemetry: Collect, process, and analyze weekly safety dashboard parameters, providing actionable data summaries to help the operations site leadership team solve tracking anomalies .
  • Operations Leader Training: Instruct, guide, and upskill local Area Managers and Shift Supervisors, ensuring safety standard compliance metrics are embedded inside standard work steps .
  • Standard Work Benchmarking: Identify floor safety best practices, translate localized wins into scalable internal standards, and propose strategic upgrades to enterprise safety manuals .
  • Stakeholder Alignment & Trust: Cultivate trust-based, collaborative relationships with cross-functional node managers to influence change without formal authority .

Required Qualifications & Technical Stack

  • Professional Domain History: Minimum of 1 year of progressive professional experience and increasing responsibilities directly within an environmental health and safety (EHS), corporate safety, or occupational health program environment .
  • Lean Methodology Exposure: Demonstrated practical background implementing lean principles, process improvement tools, or targeted hazard-reduction loops within an active operational environment .
  • Ecosystem Shift Agility: Full operational flexibility to support changing rotational shifts based on fluid e-commerce fulfillment and site business requirements .
  • Technical Toolkit Data: Strong functional familiarity utilizing computing software or the Microsoft Office suite to organize compliance data and track incident reports .
  • Core Soft Skills: Outstanding verbal and written business communication habits, precise technical writing capabilities, high data auditing accuracy, and a natural customer obsession .
