Software Development Engineer, FBA Defect Prevention [SDE II / Backend Engineer]

Amazon Dev Center India (ADCI) is seeking a highly technical, logic-driven Software Development Engineer, FBA Defect Prevention to join our supply chain operations engineering division in Bengaluru, Karnataka . Operating at the core of Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA), this SDE II level position focuses on building backend automation and distributed microservices that ingest contradictory network signals, evaluate root causes, and prevent operational supply chain defects at immense scale .

Key Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Greenfield System Scaling: Architect, implement, and deploy low-latency distributed microservices to process supply chain exceptions across sellers, carriers, and robotics platforms .
• GenAI Feature Integration: Embed Generative AI models into core pipelines to automate pattern scanning, interpret logistics imagery, and build intelligent communication bridges for sellers .
• Network Signal Deep-Dives: Develop robust algorithms to cross-verify misleading network logs, establishing clear operational truth vectors to reduce Amazon's cost to serve .
• Full-Lifecycle SDLC Excellence: Enforce extreme code quality, implementing advanced unit testing strategies, comprehensive code reviews, automated build processes, and structured release tracks .
• Operational Platform Upgrades: Continuously re-engineer active cloud architectures to eliminate supply bottlenecks, mislabeling issues, and inventory placement defects .

Required Qualifications & Technical Stack

• Professional Software Tenure: Minimum of 3 years of verified, non-internship professional software development experience across production platforms .
• System Design & Architecture: 2 or more years of proven background mapping software design patterns, system scaling boundaries, and reliability thresholds .
• Polyglot Programming Skills: Hands-on programming mastery utilizing at least one modern language, such as Java, C++, Python, or C# .
• Preferred Value-Adds: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, combined with strong experience overseeing source control tracking, build pipelines, and automated continuous operations .
• Core Soft Skills: Outstanding technical business communication attributes, high-level logical troubleshooting, and a natural customer obsession to solve abstract defects .
