Transportation Specialist, Relay Ops [Relay Operations Shift Lead]

Amazon India (ASSPL) is hiring a highly analytical and leadership-oriented Transportation Specialist, Relay Ops to join our central supply chain command and control center in a fully virtual capacity based out of Delhi . Positioned within the Relay Operations (RO) unit, this shift leadership role acts as the primary execution engine tracking first-mile to last-mile transport data, mitigating network exceptions, and managing a dedicated team of L2 personnel to secure peak logistics metrics .

Key Responsibilities & Scope of Work

• Shift Operations Leadership: Act as the primary shift owner responsible for logistics performance targets, guiding and coaching a team of L2 specialists to hit continuous output goals .
• Real-Time Network Triage: Monitor central supply chain operations from the first mile to final delivery stations, intervening immediately to resolve tracking cancellations, carrier delays, and network disruptions .
• Bilingual Stakeholder Interlock: Coordinate real-time communications across external carriers, suppliers, and haulage firms alongside internal nodes (Fulfillment Centers, Sort Centers, and Planning teams) .
• Systemic Variance Escalation: Troubleshoot system data variations, systematically escalating logistics barriers to relevant product owners and engineering teams to deploy long-term solutions .
• Data Mining & Analytical Queries: Pull and aggregate complex datasets from multi-tier relational databases utilizing **SQL, MS Access, and Microsoft Excel** to generate ad-hoc performance dashboards .
• Weekly Narrative Authorship: Analyze network exception trends, compiling and structuring clear weekly finding narratives to present data-driven operational adjustments to senior management .

Required Qualifications & Technical Stack

• Educational Foundation: Holds a valid Bachelor’s degree in a highly quantitative or technical discipline such as Computer Science, Engineering, or Statistics .
• Advanced Spreadsheet Competency: Demonstrated professional mastery using Microsoft Excel to manage complex data structures, formulate tracking models, and run trend analytics .
• Preferred Technical Value-Adds: Hands-on operational experience drafting relational database scripts (SQL query composition) or working within fast-paced logistics/control center environments is highly preferred .
• Core Soft Skills: Outstanding verbal and written business communication attributes, high-velocity critical decision-making under tight timelines, exceptional time-management, and an assertive leadership drive .
