Job Description

Amazon is hiring for the position of U.S. Payroll Analyst in Hyderabad. This is an excellent opportunity for finance and payroll professionals with 2–3 years of payroll or accounting experience who are looking to build their careers with one of the world's leading technology companies. As part of Amazon's Workforce Management (WFM) Payroll team, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for employees across multiple U.S. states while maintaining compliance with payroll regulations and company policies.

The U.S. Payroll Analyst will work in a fast-paced shared services environment and collaborate with Human Resources, Finance, and Payroll teams to process employee payroll, audit payroll data, resolve payroll-related queries, and maintain payroll records using enterprise HR and payroll systems such as Workday and PeopleSoft. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge, and the ability to manage confidential employee information with professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process weekly and bi-weekly U.S. payroll accurately using Workday or similar payroll software.
  • Review, validate, and audit payroll data to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.
  • Maintain employee payroll records and HR data using PeopleSoft and related HRIS applications.
  • Process employee garnishments, child support orders, tax levies, and legal deductions.
  • Review employee timesheets and resolve payroll discrepancies before payroll processing.
  • Handle payroll activities related to new hires, employee transfers, terminations, and employee maintenance.
  • Configure payroll benefit deductions and maintain payroll master data.
  • Perform manual payroll calculations and coordinate stop payments, paycheck reversals, and payroll corrections.
  • Support payroll card processing and payroll check distribution.
  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries with accuracy and professionalism.
  • Process stock compensation, relocation payments, third-party sick pay, and year-end payroll transactions.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and Payroll teams to improve payroll accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. payroll policies, tax regulations, and company payroll standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Commerce (B.Com) or equivalent qualification.
  • 2–3 years of payroll processing, payroll administration, accounting, or finance operations experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential employee and payroll information.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with Workday, PeopleSoft, or similar payroll systems.
  • Experience in finance operations, shared services, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or general ledger.
  • Knowledge of U.S. payroll regulations and payroll compliance.
  • Experience handling employee payroll queries in a large corporate environment.
  • Knowledge of payroll auditing and reconciliation processes.
