Amazon is hiring an SDE I FTC (Software Development Engineer I) for its Amazon Pay organization. This is a 12-month contract opportunity to work on PayUI, a greenfield initiative focused on building standardized rendering technologies and reusable UX components for Amazon Pay pages.

As part of a new engineering team, you will contribute to building a large-scale Tier-1 rendering platform that serves as the foundation for Amazon Pay payment pages. The platform is expected to support thousands of customers every day and will standardize how UX components interact and how their look and feel are presented across Amazon Pay experiences.

You will participate in the complete software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, service design, prototyping, software development, testing, and delivery. You will work closely with product managers, UX designers, software developers, and multiple client teams to build scalable customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and build scalable software solutions for the Amazon Pay rendering platform.
• Contribute to the development of standardized and reusable UX components.
• Build foundational services and interfaces for the new rendering technology platform.
• Review and understand technical and product requirements.
• Design services and software components that support Amazon Pay payment experiences.
• Develop, test, debug, and deliver high-quality production code.
• Define, design, prototype, and build new customer experiences.
• Work across multiple customer use cases within the Amazon Pay ecosystem.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, software engineers, and client teams.
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle.
• Build scalable technologies capable of supporting high-volume customer experiences.
• Contribute to a creative and collaborative engineering environment.

Basic Qualifications:

• 1+ year of non-internship professional software development experience.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent discipline.
• Experience developing scalable software applications and services.
• Strong problem-solving and software development skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional technical and product teams.
