Job Description
TaskUs is hiring an Associate Data Engineer for its Information Systems team in India. This is a full-time remote / work-from-home opportunity based in Airoli, India. The role is suitable for professionals with 2+ years of experience in Data Engineering.
As an Associate Data Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain data pipelines, data warehouses, ETL processes, and analytics infrastructure. You will work with technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure accurate, reliable, and meaningful data is available for business intelligence, reporting, and analytics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and data warehouse solutions.
- Manage data integration and ETL jobs, including consolidation, aggregation, filtering, and validation.
- Implement data quality routines and support dimension creation.
- Automate data processing and production jobs using approved technical patterns.
- Configure job dependencies, schedules, validation processes, and data stream updates.
- Design, develop, verify, and optimize data models for analytics and reporting.
- Work with technical users to understand data requirements and business rules.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders on BI platforms, datasets, and reporting requirements.
- Validate data models and perform unit and system integration testing.
- Participate in peer reviews and maintain technical documentation.
- Monitor error handling, logging, data quality, and validation processes.
- Troubleshoot configuration, data, and production issues.
- Monitor ETL and data-processing performance and identify optimization opportunities.
- Work with technologies including Python, Apache Kafka, AWS Redshift, AWS Glue, AWS S3, and Pentaho Data Integration.
- Develop and maintain ETL processes using platforms such as Pentaho, SSIS, Informatica, Talend, Fivetran, or Airflow.
- Work with MPP database architectures such as Amazon Redshift, Snowflake, and Teradata.
- Support streaming data pipelines using technologies such as Kafka, Spark, or Segment.
- Apply database and ETL tuning techniques to improve data-processing performance.
- Work with cloud analytics solutions, preferably within AWS or GCP environments.
- Collaborate effectively with technical teams and business stakeholders in a cross-functional environment.
Required Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of professional experience in Data Engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with Python and data engineering technologies.
- Experience with Apache Kafka, AWS Redshift, AWS Glue, and AWS S3.
- Experience with Pentaho Data Integration or comparable ETL platforms.
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and data modeling.
- Experience designing star and snowflake schemas.
- Hands-on experience with ETL tools such as Pentaho, SSIS, Informatica, Talend, Fivetran, or Airflow.
- Experience with MPP database architecture and platforms such as Teradata, Snowflake, or Redshift.
- Experience with cloud analytics solutions, preferably AWS or GCP.
- Knowledge of streaming pipelines using Kafka, Spark, or Segment.
- Experience with database and ETL performance tuning.
- Knowledge of NoSQL technologies is preferred.
- Familiarity with AI tools is preferred but not mandatory.
Education: Bachelor’s / College Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Telecommunications. Candidates with 4–8 years of relevant experience may be considered in place of a degree, according to the employer listing.
